Armored Technology

Overview

Armored Technology provides:

  • Protection of RNA targets from degradation – enabling stable RNA-based assay controls and standards

Armored RNA® is based on bacteriophage coat protein encapsulation of specific RNA targets to form pseudo-viral particles. The bacteriophage coat protein protects RNA transcripts from nuclease degradation and can stabilize RNA sequences.

Armored RNA® is designed for use as standards and controls in assays, in particular for use as positive controls or quantitative internal spiked controls for amplification and detection using RT-PCR.

Armored RNA® Quant Applications:

Armored RNA® Quant technology stabilizes RNA transcripts from nuclease degradation by packaging them in a protective protein coat. The packaging of the RNA transcripts is performed in-vitro, enabling very tight control of RNA quality packaging. Due to the added stringency of this preparation, Armored RNAsup>® Quant can be directly quantified via a primary phosphate standard certified by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

Armored RNA® provides:

  • Package target RNA of choice or ready-to-use catalog products for many applications
  • 150 to 500 plus bp insert target size

Armored RNA® technology stabilizes RNA transcripts from nuclease degradation by packaging them in a protective protein coat. The packaging of a cloned RNA target sequence is driven off an inducible expression plasmid in host E coli.
